We always know ahead of time when Independence Day is coming up.  Vendors along the main thoroughfares will be hawking hand-held flags, some more aggressively than others.  We are all for supporting small enterprise so that’s not the main point of this article.  I think the more important point will be discovering the spirit and the will behind our flag-waving.  June is always a busy month for Rock Ed Philippines, the campuses will be bustling with new waves of activity and student leadership.  Rock Ed will always welcome being invited to visit and make its ‘campaign for nation-involvement’ felt in schools and universities.  Our first stop will be on Wed, June 18, 2008 at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

In this light we’d like to share with you a video made by a film-director named Mae Paner.  Paner is a part of PAGASA ( .  A group that pushes against social apathy.  This piece is her contribution to the cause.  Straight up and simple, the video ought to speak to most of us.  If it doesn’t, then that’s cool, too.  It takes all sorts to form a nation.  And all shapes are welcome here.

Mabuhay ang Filipino iba-iba ang pananaw.
Mabuhay ang Filipinong iba-iba ang sagot sa pare-parehong tanong.

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan sa ating lahat.
