Daniel’s SONA
A week before the President’s State of the Nation Address, 2008

Engaged in a conversation with this young man, Rock Ed volunteer Reem Hameed realized that there really is wisdom in listening to a child.  They say it as it is. While in town, Reem volunteered for Rock Ed’s continuing project with jails (Project Rehas) and got to know our creative writing class, otherwise known as “the gentlemen poets of Bilibid.”  Hameed is a visiting intern at ECPAT Philippines.  (End Child Prostitution Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes) Her mother’s roots are in Escalante, Negros so despite her growing up in the Middle East and now being a law student based in Toronto, she exerts a lot of effort to get to know our country and its issues.
We usually say to the younger ones, “watch and learn.”  Now allow us to say the exact phrase to you regarding this raw video of Daniel’s take on our country’s problems.
Mabuhay ang PIlipinong nag tatanong.
Mabuhay ang Pilipinong nagbibigay ng derechong sagot.
