Rock Ed Volunteer Directs GCAP "Kahirapan Wakasan" TV Ad
07.2005

The stark black and white frame is rightly reminiscent of the Make Poverty History ad of the GCAP-UK campaign. Being the Philippine version of this call to action against poverty, there was a need to stick to the same look -- a creative decision that will indicate that the Philippines is joining the global voice against poverty.
We are 6 billion voices saying the same thing at the same time, END POVERTY NOW.
Shown here is Rock Ed Philippines' volunteer number one: Noel Cabangon.
Bing Basit of Media 2Six Inc is a Rock Ed volunteer. He spearheaded the TVC production ably coordinated by May-I Fabros, a GCAP Philippines volunteer.

Tediously gathering a motley cast of people, the crew shot the ad with incomparable single-mindedness. To gather such a vast array of people together -- is a little short of a modern-day miracle. TV Teleserye princess Bea Alonzo is shown here sporting the white band against poverty.
Having bubble-gum-pop stars like Bea join the same production set as former University of the Philippines president Francisco Nemenzo, rock musician, Karl Roy, former Senator Wigberto Tanada, political analyst Prof Leonor Briones and young male matinee idol Diether Ocampo was impossible before today.
We suppose it takes a war against poverty to get everyone together.
In this battle, we are all comrades.
