A few months ago, we got this letter:
Dear ROCK ED PHILIPPINES:
Bataan takes great pride in showcasing the natural wealth and diversity of our various tourist attractions, among which is our long shoreline of pristine beaches and the various habitat that it nurtures. In cognizance of the concerted effort to preserve our-eco-system, the BTCFI has seen fit to support the community based Pawikan (sea turtles) Conservation Project in Nagbalayong, Morong.
We have lined up different activities on November 29 and 30, 2007 such as the “Save the Pawikan” Walk For a Cause, Beach Concert, Kite Flying, Street Dancing Competition, Beach Volleyball Competition among schools, and the climax of the festival will be the releasing to the sea of thousands of pawikan hatchlings by provincial and local officials, residents, conservationists and guests. The activities will immensely help us to showcase and promote the beautiful beaches of Morong and its nearby town of Bagac, the nesting grounds of the pawikans.
We intend to make this activity an annual event which would be nationally known and be recognized as the PAWIKAN FESTIVAL IN BATAAN. An event that can possibly generate considerable income for the locality and thus help alleviate poverty in our province.
In this regard, we would like to invite your group to support and take part on this activity for an environmental cause.
Thank you and hoping for your favorable response.
THE BATAAN TOURISM COUNCIL FOUNDATION
